Draft pending legal review. This describes what we actually collect and who we share it with. It has not yet been reviewed by counsel.

What we collect

  • Account details — name, email, and authentication data, handled by our sign-in provider.
  • Order details — the items you submit, your photographs, condition grades, addresses for pickup and delivery, and order history.
  • Payment details — processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number.
  • Contact form submissions — what you type, plus the email or phone number you give us.
  • Location at handoff — precise device location from drivers and shop staff at the moment a custody handoff or delivery attempt is recorded. Customers' locations are not collected — see below.
  • Basic technical data — the standard request information any website receives.

Why we collect it

  • To grade your item and show it to providers so they can bid.
  • To arrange pickup, delivery and return.
  • To take payment and pay providers.
  • To document condition at intake and return, so disputes have evidence.
  • To improve the accuracy of the grading system.
  • To reply when you contact us.

Who we share it with

  • The provider who takes your job — your item's photographs and grade, plus what they need to complete the work. Not your payment details.
  • Stripe — payment processing and provider payouts.
  • Our authentication provider — sign-in and account security.
  • Identity verification providers — for verifying provider businesses, not customers.
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers — who store the data on our behalf.

We do not sell your personal information.

Your photographs

Photographs of your items are used to grade them, to show providers the work, and to document condition. We may use them internally to check and improve grading accuracy. We will not use identifiable photographs in marketing without asking you first.

Location

When a pair changes hands — collected from you, delivered to a shop, returned to you — the person recording that handoff records the device's precise location at that moment. The same applies when a driver records a delivery attempt at your door. This is proof of custody: evidence that a specific pair changed hands at a specific place and time. A handoff cannot be completed without it.

  • Whose location: the driver's, or the shop staff member's, whoever records the handoff. If you're a customer, your location is not collected — the app never asks you for it.
  • When: only at the instant a handoff or delivery attempt is recorded, with the app open. Never in the background, and never continuously.
  • Where it goes: into the custody record for that order, where Re•Store staff can review it if something is disputed. It is not shown to customers and not shared outside the providers listed above.
  • How long: as long as the order's custody record is kept (see below).

How long we keep it

Order and condition records are kept for as long as we may need them to resolve a dispute or to meet legal and tax obligations. Account data is kept while your account is open.

Your choices

  • Ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct it.
  • Ask us to delete your account and associated data, subject to records we're required to keep.
  • Unsubscribe from marketing email at any time. Transactional messages about an active order will still be sent.

Email hello@savemykicks.com for any of these.

Children

Re•Store is not intended for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we'll notify you through the service or by email.
